We Don't Do Teams.
We Do Receipts.

Distortion Daily is a DIY political news board run out of Dallas, Texas, by one broke college student with a laptop and a grudge against being lied to. Here's the whole deal, in plain language.

What this is

Every story gets the same autopsy: what happened, what each side claims, what the evidence supports, where the framing is doing the lying — and then the part nobody else prints: who benefits. Follow the incentives and the politics explains itself.

We swing left and right alike, but never for balance-sheet reasons. If only one side earned the jab this week, only one side gets jabbed. Manufacturing a matching attack for "fairness" is just lying with extra steps.

Punk patriotism

This board looks like a Xeroxed flyer because it is one, spiritually. But let's be clear: dissent is the most American thing there is. The whole country was founded by people who read the ruling power's claims, checked the receipts, and said "nah." We punch up — at power, at institutions, at the people cashing the checks — never down at ordinary people trying to get through the week. Nobody gets mocked here for running installed software: beliefs put in before they could consent. The installers are fair game.

No flag-burning, no edgelord cosplay. Just the loud, rude American tradition of demanding better from your own country because you actually believe in it.

Who runs this

One independent editor in Dallas. No investors, no party, no nonprofit with a donor list, no advertisers with opinions. Research is AI-assisted; every word is human-approved before it publishes. If a claim is in here, a person signed their name to it.

Corrections policy

We will get things wrong. When we do, the correction goes on the front page, loud, with the original error quoted — not buried at the bottom of the article at 2 a.m. Burying a correction is lying twice. If you spot an error, send it and watch how fast we wear it.

How the money works

Reader donations and clearly-marked ad slots. Ads are labeled; coverage is never for sale. Autopsies are never sponsored — a sponsor who wants editorial input can go buy a billboard. Sponsorship inquiries get the same answer as everybody else: the receipts decide. Full breakdown on the support page.
