Keep the lights on

No paywall. Ever.

This board is free to read and always will be. Distortion Daily is a one-person operation — your donation goes directly to the publisher, and it's what keeps the board alive and growing: hosting, research, and coffee, in that order. No donor gets a say in what's published. That's the whole deal.

One-time, card or bank — you pick the amount. Your money goes directly to the publisher through Stripe — no personal payment tags, no bank details, nothing private is ever shown on this site.

Broke? Same. Sharing an autopsy with someone who's tired of being spun is worth more than a dollar.

Sponsorship & ad ethics

Autopsies are never sponsored. Ad slots on this board are dumb pipes: labeled space with zero editorial input. A sponsor who wants a say in coverage can go buy a billboard.

Every ad is labeled ADVERTISEMENT. No native advertising, no "partner content," no sponsored stories dressed up as journalism. If money ever touches coverage, you'll read about it on the front page — that's the deal.

How donations work: Distortion Daily is run by one person, so your donation goes directly to the publisher — that's what keeps the board free and growing. It's withdrawn manually from Stripe when needed, which is why no personal payment tags appear anywhere on this board. Privacy runs both ways: readers' payment details stay with the processor, and the publisher's stay in the dashboard. Tax note: Distortion Daily is not a nonprofit, so donations are not tax-deductible.

Donations are live now — tips collect in the publication's Stripe balance and are withdrawn manually by the publisher; no personal payment tags, ever.

Serious sponsorship inquiries: see contact. The answer to "can we review the piece first" is no.
